Which Notary Service Do You Need?

Acknowledgement

An acknowledgement is the most common form of notarization. The primary intention is to positively identify the signer and authenticate the signer's signature.

Jurat

The purpose of a jurat is to compel truthfulness in a signer. A jurat notarization is typically used on an affidavit, a written declaration upon oath made before an authorized official.

Subscribing Witness

If a person has signed a document but does not personally appear before a notary public, another person (a subscribing witness) can appear on their behalf to prove the first person signed the document.

Certified Copy

A certified copy is an official duplicate of an original document, verified by a qualified authority. A notary public can certify copies of power of attorney. A notary public cannot certify copies of birth, death, or marriage records. Those are certified by a state registrar, local registrar, or county recorder.

Loan Signing

A loan signing agent meets you after you purchase or refinance a property, and are approved for a loan. The agent ensures that all the loan documents are properly signed, notarized, and returned to the lender.

Apostille

An Apostille is a certificate that authenticates the signature of a public official on a document for use in another country.
